See My Lawyer After Class

Robert McKillion, a computer teacher at Daphne High School in Daphne, Ala., has agreed not to charge students for using the restroom during class after a 14-year-old student wet his pants. “The teacher told him that he should have said it was an emergency,” the boy’s mother said. The kids had unanimously agreed to the fee to help pay for a party at the end of the semester, and the school’s principal said the fee was “not required,” but the county district attorney is investigating. “I don’t believe you can take money from students to go to the bathroom, even if the payment is voluntary,” he said. “I’m quite sure we could not treat prisoners that way.” (AP) ...No doubt, the headline on the story in the school paper was “District Attorney Affirms School Like Prison”.
