When Australia’s official women’s soccer team issued a calendar featuring the players posing in the nude, the Australian Olympic Committee quickly showed its wrath. Actually, the Committee couldn’t care less about the full-frontal nudity; it was upset that the calendar identified the players as “Olympic” team members. Under the Sydney 2000 Games Protection Act, it sniffed, the word “Olympic” cannot be used without its permission. The team has agreed to reissue the calendar without the offending word.
