Due to “an increasingly litigation crazy public,” not to mention “the ethics and legal implications of ‘splatting’ and ‘sloshing’,” the professional clown organization Clowns International is recommending that its members take out “custard pie insurance” in case they are sued for throwing pies during performances. The Southampton, England, group says no clowns have been sued yet, but it’s probably just a matter of time before one is. (Reuters) ...If there’s insurance money available, it’s pretty much a certainty.
