The BBC says they are sorry for a joke they played on a woman that was taped for a TV show. The producers stopped by the woman’s house to persuade her to agree to pay one pound (US$1.43) to “save an orphaned African child.” Once she agreed, a 7-year-old black actor was delivered to her in a crate. The woman immediately called the police, who ordered filming to be shut down. “We are sorry if we have caused any unnecessary offense,” said a network spokesman. (Reuters) ...He apparently refused, however, to apologize for the necessary offenses.
