Smile!

When the owner of a stolen car got the car back, it was stripped. However, the owner’s camera was still inside, the film still in it. “When she gets the pictures back, she gets a picture of this guy and a sign for the Rockaways exit of the Belt Parkway in the background,” a Suffolk, New York, detective said. “The guy is inside the car!” Officers didn’t recognize the suspect from the photo, until another detective said the photo was a good likeness of Nelson Santana, 22 — who was in jail on another charge. The district attorney’s office added a larceny to Santana’s charge for the car theft. (New York Newsday) ...The second detective couldn’t help but remember the guy, since he had insisted on taking his own mug shots.
