Squash News II

Prosecutors in New York have decided to take a robbery suspect to trial for a fourth time after the first three ended in either mistrials or with hung juries. Carlos Diaz is accused of mugging a man for his watch and $20 while threatening to shoot him. Police found money and a watch on Diaz when he was arrested — along with a zucchini squash that police say Diaz used as the “gun” in the crime. Diaz’ defense attorney is flabbergasted by the fourth trial. “It’s preposterous. Their judgment has been warped by a zucchini,” fumed lawyer Steven Silberblat. “It’s time to move on to other vegetables.” (Reuters) ...Please, Mr. Silberblat: your client is “intellectually challenged”, not a “vegetable”.
