While conducting the opera Il Pirata in Stockholm, Sweden, Giovanni Impellizzeri, 70, got perhaps a bit too energetic. During the first act, he rammed his baton through his left hand. “I did not feel a thing, I just saw the baton sticking out of the hand and thought it looked funny,” he said later. “Then I quickly pulled it out.
