City officials in Dover, England, say Terry Lee cannot fulfill the final wish of his recently deceased wife, Ruth, who wanted to be buried in the garden outside their house. The local council has obtained an injunction against the burial, suggesting he bury her ashes there instead, so Lee is upping the stakes. “My wife was completely against cremation. I intend to have her embalmed, which is 100 percent preserved, and put her in the front room if I have to,” he says. That may be a problem too, however, because of the length of the battle. After being stored in the hospital morgue for six weeks, the body may no longer be fit for embalming, a local official says.
