Stinking Rich

A study by the University of California, Los Angeles, finds that the number-one criterion women use for picking a mate is the man’s money-making ability. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to value a woman’s physical attractiveness. However, men are starting to realize that their own good looks can help bring in women with better incomes. In other words, “men also recognize there is potential economic value in their looks,” says researcher Saskia Karen Subramanian. At the same time, a study by the Institute of Urban Ethology in Vienna report that women like the smell of ugly men more than handsome men. Women smelled T-shirts worn by various men who had been rated as more or less good-looking. They liked the smells of the less-handsome men better. The results were the opposite of similar studies conducted with men sniffing women’s shirts. (AP, AFP) ...That’s because the study of men used shirts that were still on the women.
