Stuff It, Buddy

Lisa Alger of Roy, Wash., was upset at the citation she received for having three unlicensed cats. She told District Court Judge Paul Treyz that two of the cats were strays that roamed her property, and that she should not be responsible for cats she did not own. And the third? That would be “Patches”. She admitted she owned Patches, but argued that cat shouldn't require a license either, since it was a stuffed toy — she said the Humane Society officer who gave her the citation hadn't even bothered to check that Patches was real or not. Judge Treyz dismissed the $285 citation. (AP) ...Heck: for $285, she could stuff the strays, too.
