Residents in quiet Windlesham, England, are abuzz about a big new house there. The 30-bedroom, 30-bath house has five swimming pools, two bowling alleys, heated tennis courts, a shooting gallery and a movie theater. It’s set on 90 acres, and just sold for 70 million pounds (US$98 million) to a sheikh from the United Arab Emirates. “No corners have been cut on this one,” gushed one of the workers who built the house. “Everything is of the finest craftsmanship and quality. Even the stables, for instance, are good enough for humans to live in.” (AFP) ...That’s nothing. Thanks to increases in gas prices, in the U.S. cardboard boxes are now good enough for some people to live in.
