With film productions moving to Canada and other cheaper places to work, Hollywood movie-makers are feeling the pinch. However, there is still one segment of the industry that’s thriving: pornography. While the industry is down 13 percent, the adult movie industry is up 25 percent this year, with 10,000 porn titles scheduled for release by year-end, according to trade magazine Adult Video News. The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation says adult films are an increasingly important part of the area economy. EDC chief economist Jack Kyser says that while “you might not approve of the product ...the success of the adult segment is a welcome anchor in the wind.” (UPI) ...Or, it’s OK to have standards, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of making money.
