Teed Off Again

West Virginia’s governor Bob Wise was widely ridiculed when he complained about a T-shirt marketed by Abercrombie & Fitch that he thought denigrated his state. The resulting publicity shot sales through the roof. A&F, knowing a good sales promotion when it sees one, has issued a new $24.50 T with the slogan, “West Virginia: No Lifeguard At the Gene Pool”. As predicted, Wise is indignant, calling the shirt “cruel.” “What I’ve learned about a bully is if you don’t respond to a bully they just keep punching you,” he said. (RC/AP) ...And what A&F has learned is they can count on Wise’s assistance to sell $24.50 T-shirts.
