A panel of physicians at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has voted to approve a new drug to treat schizophrenia despite the fact that 27 of the people who took the drug in tests died. The drug was approved because as many as 25 percent of schizophrenics don’t respond to the drugs already on the market. (AP) ...The FDA’s six-person oversight panel voted 13-7 to approve the new drug.
