This is True

The Mismeasure of Man

A police dog from Fostoria, Ohio, may be summoned to court as evidence after it was revealed it has a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Concordia College and University in the Virgin Islands. Fostoria Chief of Police John McGuire has been indicted for falsification of records for claiming on his resume he had a degree in criminal justice. That has been alleged to also be a $499 mail-order degree from Concordia, according to his indictment. The transcripts for the chief and the dog show nearly identical class work, but the dog has higher grades in some classes. (Toledo Blade) ...Well sure: the dog is smarter.

Story Update: Chief McGuire was acquitted of all charges. Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Michael Kelbley ruled there was “no similarity between those two degrees” (McGuire’s, and police dog Rocko’s). McGuire apparently returned to work, “doing a great job and finally cleaning up my town and our department,” mayor John Davoli said.
