At least 70,000 Nigerians have been taken in by a scam, buying a visa for the “Republic of Lomar”. The victims paid 400–1,500 naira (US$3.20–12.00) for the visas to the fictitious country because its location — “somewhere between Canada and the United States,” according to the scam’s promoters — makes for easy entry to the U.S. (AFP) ...And once here, there’s plenty of oceanfront property available on the cheap in Las Vegas.
