Took His Medicine

James W. Lewis has completed his 12-year federal prison term in El Reno, Okla., for his role in the 1983 “Tylenol murders” case. Cyanide-laced capsules put into medicine bottles on store shelves sent the public into a panic, killed seven unwitting headache sufferers, and dramatically changed the way over-the-counter drugs are packaged. Lewis was a suspect in the deaths, but was convicted only of attempting to extort $1 million from the drug’s manufacturer in exchange for a promise “to stop the killing.” (AP) ...And just as soon as we can find someone who can figure out how to open the “child proof” cell door, we’ll let him out.
