Trained Planes and Automobiles

Howard Hamer had just taken off in his light plane from Chiloquin, Ore., when he lost power. He spotted a nearby highway and prepared to make an emergency landing. At the same time, Filiberto Ambriz was northbound on U.S. 97 in his semi, pulling a flatbed trailer. Hamer did not see the truck, and Ambriz did not see the plane, but the plane made such a good landing on the empty flatbed trailer that neither man was injured. (AP) ...Any landing you can drive away from is a good one.
