Two Thumbs Down

Downtown Seattle was evacuated for 5-1/2 hours after a man parked a pickup truck with a model of a human heart in the back and the word “bomb” written on the front bumper. He then flattened all four tires and walked away. The man, Jason Sprinkle, 26, said later “all it was is art,” adding the “art” was meant as a protest against the re-opening of a street that runs through a park. “I didn’t even think it would be noticed.” Police used a robot to search the truck for bombs; none were found. Sprinkle is being held on $100,000 bond anyway while police consider charging him with violating the state’s Explosives Act, which makes bomb hoaxes a crime. (AP) ...The police’s reaction was understandable, considering Oklahoma City coupled with their morning double skinny latte.
