Ultimo Gizmo

Anthropologists in Ethiopia have found “surprisingly sophisticated” tools made by pre-humans 2.5 million years ago — 200,000 years earlier than previous finds. “Surprisingly for this early date, the tool-makers had a clear understanding of producing sharp-edged tools, an ability which probably gave them a competitive advantage,” said New Zealand anthropologist Jack Harris, who directed the study of the tools. “The emergence of the homo genus may have occurred earlier than we have previously believed. That in itself is a thrilling thought.” (Reuters) ...That, and that the tools were borrowed from Afarensis aethiopicus neighbors and never returned.
