Burglars in New Delhi, India, attempted to tunnel into a jewelry shop, but apparently got their measurements wrong: the tunnel terminated at a washing machine shop next door instead. Rather than leave empty handed, they stole a collection of religious statues kept in the shop. The tunnel was discovered by the washing machine shop’s owner when he tracked down the source of a foul odor — the 15-foot tunnel led to the sewer system.
