Rich people in Britain should get special tax breaks so they can employ butlers and maids, London’s Adam Smith Institute says. “By employing help on a domestic or personal level, the user is often able to increase their own economic efficiency,” the think tank claims. Further, the reduction in unemployment would ease the burden on welfare rolls, and, even better, being on a rich person’s staff would help lower income people’s self-esteem, as service allows the poor “greater interaction and social exchange” with the rich.
