This is True

Veni, Vidi, Tipsi

The Michelin man, the corporate spokes-cartoon for the French tire company, is being updated for the millennium with a slimmer look. The character, which debuted in 1898, looks like a stack of white tires with a face and arms. His name is Bibendum, after a line in a Latin verse of Horace which appeared with a beer-chugging Bibendum in 1898, “Nunc est bibendum,” which roughly translates to “Now is the time to drink.” (Reuters) ...That slogan will also be updated for the millennium, to “If you drink, don’t drive. If you must drink and drive, ride on Michelins.”
