After a room at the Indianhead Motel in Chippewa Falls, Wisc., was stripped bare, police didn't have a hard time tracking down the suspect: Kenneth A. German, 21, had checked into the room under his own name. Officers searching his apartment found the motel room's TV, refrigerator, microwave oven, mirror, lamps, pictures from the wall and bed linens. Police say he admitted his friends told him it was a “stupid idea” to steal the items as he was loading them into his car, but told officers he was not thinking clearly at the time because he had drunk 18 beers.
