What a Doll

When you raise the right arm on Mattel’s “Rad Repeatin’ Tarzan” doll, its “jungle yell” recording plays. But “that right arm is the topic of controversy,” Mattel spokeswoman Sara Rosales admits. It seems that pushing the spring-loaded arm down reaches its hand toward Tarzan’s loincloth, and repeated action is ...um... “suggestive”. Rosales adds that “adults look at things through a different set of eyes. Kids have a much more innocent concept.” Mattel will not change the doll’s design, but will fix the packaging so the “suggestive” arm motions are impossible until the buyer unwraps the doll outside the store. (AP) ...That’s something best done in private anyway.
