U.N. Special Envoy Olara Otunu recently visited Sierra Leone and was shocked by the atrocities committed against people in the civil war there. “The magnitude of suffering that I have seen... is beyond belief,” he said. He said Murray Town camp in Freetown was “a whole community of amputees — a community of people without limbs.” What to do about this tragedy? Otunu says he agrees with the local people. “The children in particular want to see the process of disarmament begin.” (Reuters) ...You know, sometimes it’s a poor choice of words that starts wars in the first place.
