When Pigs Fly

Two women armed with a doctor’s note certifying that a pet pig was a “service animal” akin to a guide dog were allowed by US Airways to take the pig on a flight from Philadelphia to Seattle. The women had called ahead to OK the animal, claiming it weighed 13 pounds. In fact, it weighed 300 pounds, and they even put the pig in first class. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident as a possible policy or safety violation, noting that while the pig slept through most of the flight it went “hog wild” upon landing and tried to smash its way into the cockpit. A USAir spokesman confirmed the pig flew on the plane, but “There are no further developments, nothing further to say.” (Philadelphia Daily News) ...Which is PR-speak for “By-B-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-That’s all, folks!”
