Researchers at South Carolina’s Clemson University say they have made progress in their state-funded quest to make chicken manure smell better: they’re adding garlic powder to the fowl’s feed. “It makes the poultry house smell like a pizzeria instead of manure,” says professor Glenn Birrenkott.
