Dr. Stuart Meloy, an anesthesiologist and pain specialist from Winston-Salem, N.C., says he has created an orgasm machine. His discovery was accidental, and came when putting an electrode in a precise location on a woman’s back as part of a pain treatment. The electrodes often cause the patient pain if it’s not put in the exact right spot, “but the sound that she made was a little bit different. I asked her what it was,” Meloy said. The electrode had induced an orgasm, and the patient asked Meloy if he could teach the trick to her husband.
