Latisha Wright, 11, was tired of waiting for her mother to finish her workout. Mom had left the keys in the car so Latisha and her cousin, Shakierra Mack, 8, could listen to the radio. When Patricia Wright, 33, finished her workout, the car and the children were gone. Latisha drove the car 50 miles to visit her aunt in Lynchburg, Va. It was far enough away that she had to stop for gas. Latisha will not be charged, a police spokesman said, noting “I think her mother’s going to punish her enough.” Mrs. Wright was charged with child neglect.
