When Sam Kaplan, 65, was seen standing by a road in Tampa, Fla., holding a sign that read, “Want Wife”, the story was covered in local newspapers. He told reporters he was a retired millionaire who wanted to settle down, and was contacted by “several” eligible women who saw the story. But someone who knew Kaplan sent a copy of the article to Kaplan’s wife. She was not amused. Linda Kaplan said her husband walked out on her two and a half years ago “without even taking a toothbrush.” When confronted by reporters, Kaplan admitted he was indeed still married.
