A Russian scientist has died in the worst atomic accident since the Chernobyl disaster. Alexander Zakharov emerged from a uranium-contaminated Arzamas-16 atomic weapons lab and told colleagues, “I told you, the gloves were too slippery.” Zakharov absorbed more than 600 roentgen of radiation.
