Yo Ho, Oh No, the Pirate Strife to Be

Since Disneyland is “sensitive to issues that might be politically incorrect,” a spokesman says, the park has shut down the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride and will remove scenes of the pirates lustily chasing after women; instead, they will lustily chase after food. Judy Rosener, a “women’s issues expert” at the nearby University of California, Irvine, campus, praised Disney, noting that “just because pirates did such things doesn’t mean Disney has to depict it.” (AP) ...Right. And just because women scientists, teachers, politicians, writers and artists have made contributions to society throughout history doesn’t mean we have to talk about it or teach children about it in schools. Isn’t that true, Prof. Rosener?
