You Can Bring a Man to Culture

Britain's Lord Matthew Evans, who advises the government on matters relating to museums, archives and libraries, thinks it's a scandal that so much of the country's artworks are in storage. But there's not enough room to display them all in the Kingdom's museums. So, he suggests, the artwork should be displayed in pubs and schools. “Obviously you don't put fine art in pubs,” he says, “but if you are in a rural community and you have a museum of rural life which has old farm implements in [storage] you could imagine that in a rural pub, on the walls.” (PA) ...Tractor on the wall: rural pub. Painting of naked ladies on the wall: London pub. Got it.
