This is True

Your Change, Sir

An unnamed 74-year-old man visiting his bank in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, watched as a masked man robbed it. As the robber trotted by with the loot, the elderly witness hit him in the head with a metal coin box. The dazed robber staggered out to his getaway vehicle — a bicycle — and started his escape, but the determined witness flagged down a passing car for a ride so he could give chase while updating the police on their location via a cell phone. The suspect was quickly caught. A police spokeswoman said officers “recognize the courage of this customer” but discouraged others to take similar actions. “You could put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation,” she said. (Reuters) ...Yes, we know. Some of us choose to act anyway.
